Lauding the EIS for its strong stance over the past year, Ms Foyer said, \u201cI\u2019d like to pay tribute to every single EIS member who has voted for strike action and taken strike action over the past year \u2013 the EIS has played a leading role in delivering a better deal for workers across Scotland.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms Foyer went on to say, \u201cHaving a world-class education system requires investment, and we are not getting that just now. And we need to fight back against the creeping privatisation and marketisation of our education system.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe need to keep organising, and we need to ensure that no group of workers is left behind. Let\u2019s remain strong, angry and united in fighting for a fair deal for all workers,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fringe events<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:60%\">\n<p><strong>Organising Fringe &#8211; Stay Campaign Strong<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Stay Campaign Strong fringe event allowed delegates to discuss the ways in which we were campaign-strong during the Pay Attention campaign, to reflect on the successes and to share ideas on how we can build on these in the new Stand up for Quality Education campaign, launched during the AGM. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>General Secretary Andrea Bradley chaired the session and encouraged delegates to consider the following questions: How were we campaign strong?, How do we build our collective strength in the future campaign? and What will you do to build the strength of your branch as we move into the next campaign?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div Play<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EIS Equality Fringe, entitled Work, Rest, Play, provided an opportunity for activists to focus on their wellbeing in a positive and uplifting shared space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delegates heard from EIS-FELA President Anne-Marie Harley, Jordan Daly from the Tie Campaign, and Khadija Mohammed as they discussed their struggles with health and wellbeing and the tactics they have found for looking after their mental health. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delegates were then invited to take part in fun activities designed to help them switch off and unwind, including spending time in a relaxation room, badge making and a silent disco.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3
