At lunchtime on Saturday, AGM delegates gathered outside Dundee’s Caird Hall to join together in a national rally in support of the ongoing Pay Attention campaign and the 10% pay claim for 2022.
Delegates brightened the City Square carrying banners and wearing t-shirts in the Pay Attention campaign’s signature pink and green.
Speakers included General Secretary Larry Flanagan, General Secretary Designate Andrea Bradley, outgoing President Heather Hughes, incoming President Andrene Bamford and Equality Convener Nicola Fisher, who compered the event.
Speakers encouraged delegates to keep spreading the message of the Pay Attention campaign, which asks for a 10% pay increase to offset the cost-of-living crisis, and to keep motivating members to actively engage with campaigning efforts.
Speakers highlighted that only with our entire membership united can we make COSLA and the Scottish Government ‘Pay Attention’ to Scotland’s teachers.
